Generate a CLI

Use generation when an API specification and reviewed product tasks need to become an agent-facing CLI and Agent Skills.

Describe and review

Edit .intermesh/generations/my-api/generation.json. Describe the product and only the tasks users need. Preview it with inter generate run --name my-api --dry-run.

Generate

Intermesh checks that every task maps to the OpenAPI before building. Unsupported or ambiguous tasks stop with task-specific guidance; update the same file and rerun. Generation requires an explicit provider/model selection and its named credential variable. OpenAPI and task inputs are sent to the selected provider for analysis and generation. The generated source, installable tarball, and summary remain under .intermesh/generation/outputs/.
