# Bring an existing CLI

> Prepare a packaged CLI and reviewed plan for local evaluation.

# Bring an existing CLI

Intermesh evaluates one packaged CLI. Put its npm package archive and the
reviewed plan together in an evaluation folder.

```text theme={null}
my-evaluation/
├── cli.tgz
└── eval-plan.json
```

`cli.tgz` must contain one valid npm CLI package. It may bundle Skills, but a
CLI without Skills is valid too.

## Create the plan

Run `inter setup` once to install the `inter-eval-authoring` Skill, then use it
to create `eval-plan.json`. The plan names the scenarios, expected outcomes,
target credential variable and run settings. Do not include a
credential value in the plan.

## Validate before running

```bash theme={null}
inter eval validate my-evaluation
```

Fix validation errors before authorizing the run.
